Magma is a unique state-of-the-art treatment system that delivers several technologies: a diode laser for hair removal, a vascular laser, and intense pulsed light for skin rejuvenation therapies.

The diode laser emits a light that is absorbed by the melanin in your hair. That light energy is converted to heat and damages the hair follicle, inhibiting future hair growth.

Intense pulsed light, or IPL, emits multiple wavelengths into your skin and targets melanin-producing cells that rise to the surface and pigmented areas. The light is converted to heat energy and destroys those melanin-producing cells. They’re brought to the surface and then flake off, revealing radiant, youthful skin. The same technology for skin resurfacing works for treating acne, vascular changes, sun damage and freckles. It is so gentle we can treat almost anywhere on your body!

We will determine how many treatments you need at your initial consultation. Brooke typically recommends three to five treatments. However, you’ll start to see results after one treatment!

No, you shouldn’t have to experience any interruption in your daily activities after your Magma treatment, whether for hair removal or skin rejuvenation. You may experience some pinkness or mild discomfort — similar to a sunburn — for a few hours after your treatment.
Your skin may feel quite dry or extra tight for several days following your treatment. Be prepared to keep your skin well hydrated with a barrier cream and make sure you drink lots of water. You should avoid exposure to the sun for several days following treatment. If you must be out in the sun, wear sunscreen of at least SPF 50. We may recommend a course of skin care products if necessary.
